I love to look at other kids' IEPs and IFSPs for ideas, rather than be surprised at the meeting with all the fancy pants people that know what they're talking about with age appropriate milestones and goals and whatnot. Basically I like my goals to be more complex than "make her talk." For those interested in stealing our ideas for your IFSPs, here's Marielle's treatment plan from 14 months of age. It was written by her private SLP in March 2008.
Though no timeline is specified for her goals, I'm assuming it was September (20 months of age) since we review her IFSP every 6 months. Her actual IFSP goals ended up being much shorter and more to the point, but I was glad I had this as well so I could monitor her progress.
(Everything highlighted in red she is still not doing, and not for lack of effort on anyone's part!)
Long Term Goal 1: Marielle will improve receptive language skills to age-appropriate levels to communicate in his home and school environments.
Short Term Goals
1. Marielle will respond to basic questions “what is that?, where is the ball?” with a gesture or sign 80% of opportunities.
2. Marielle will respond to her own name and turn to her parents’ names in ¾ opportunities.
3. Marielle will receptively identify at least 20 nouns and 10 verbs (auditory only) by choosing the item from a choice of two pictures with 80% accuracy.
4. Marielle will receptively identify at least 30 nouns in a book upon request.
5. Marielle will point to 5 body parts on herself or a doll across 3 consecutive sessions.
Long Term Goal 2: Marielle will improve expressive language skills to age-appropriate levels to communicate her daily thoughts and desires.
Short Term Goals
1. Marielle will continue to add at least 1-2 new signs to her repertoire weekly.
2. Marielle will spontaneously use the request “my turn” with no more than one prompt during structured play activities in 3/5 opportunities.
3. Marielle will spontaneously sign at least 20 words to label or request without prompting within her daily routine.
4. Marielle will attempt at least 10 verbal imitations within her daily routine.
Long Term Goal 3: Marielle will improve speech sound productions to produce age appropriate sound combinations.
Short Term Goals
1. Marielle will imitate bilabial /p,b,m/ in isolation 2/3 prompts.
2. Marielle will imitate vowel-consonant combinations with /t,p,n/ (at, out, up, on) 75% of opportunities.
3. Marielle will imitate consonant-vowel combinations with /t,d,m,n,p,b/ 75% of opportunities.

Hehe- those goals look familiar. We had some of those on Nolan's and they're being continued because he doesn't imitate yet. We've come up with his new goals (for review at 21 months of age) and our SLP wants him to identify 8 body parts and wants 2 word phrases out of him.
WoW these are great goals and so specific. I remember our first goal was "I want him to talk".. That was 5 years ago and he has definetly mastered that. Great Job!!
